United Airlines Announces Order For Airbus A350-1000

Airline Converts Existing Order To A350-1000s; Orders 10 Additional Of The Model

United Airlines ... which was the U.S. launch customer for Boeing's Dreamliner ... on Thursday announced an order with Airbus for new A350-1000 aircraft. The agreement converts United's existing order for 25 A350-900s into A350-1000s and adds 10 firm orders for A350-1000s, giving the airline a total order of 35 aircraft.

Boeing, CIT Announce Order For 30 737 MAX 8s

Airplanes To Be Powered By CFM International LEAP-1B Engines

Boeing and CIT Group Inc. announced Tuesday from the 2013 Paris Air Show that CIT Aerospace has placed an order for 30 737 MAX 8s. "The addition of these Boeing 737 MAX 8s ensures that CIT Aerospace maintains one of the youngest and most fuel efficient fleets," said C. Jeffrey Knittel, President of CIT Transportation Finance.

A contract for 10 AW189 helicopters was signed Wednesday at the Paris Air Show between Era Group Inc. (“Era”) and AgustaWestland. This contract confirms and increases Era's commitment to the AW189 following the signing of a preliminary sales contract for five aircraft in July 2012. The aircraft will be used to perform long range offshore oil and gas transport missions.

NTSB Cites Pilot Error In Florida Medical Helo Accident

Board Said The Pilot Made A Decision To Fly Through Deteriorating Weather Conditions

A pilot's decision to continue a flight into deteriorating weather conditions was the probable cause of an accident which occurred on December 26, 2011 near Green Cove Springs in Florida, according to the NTSB. The board said that part of the motivation for that decision was financial. The accident resulted in the fatal injury of all on board the aircraft.
