Teamster Pilots At Cape Air Ratify First Labor Agreement

Terms Include Improved Pay, Retirement, Grievance Resolution Process

In a vote announced this week by the National Mediation Board, Cape Air pilots represented by Teamsters Local Union 1224 in Wilmington, Ohio, ratified their first collective bargaining agreement. "I'm very happy for the Cape Air pilots," said Airline Division Director Capt. David Bourne. "The crewmembers of Cape Air have worked very hard for this agreement that addresses their most pressing needs and sets the stage for a brighter future. It is a testament to the member's focus and commitment to achieving a strong contract."

Southwest Airlines and its wholly owned subsidiary AirTran Airways announced Thursday that the carriers have received approval from the FAA for a Single Operating Certificate (SOC), marking a key milestone in the integration of the two airlines. Gulfstream G280 Receives Provisional Type Certificate From FAA, Israel

Deliveries Scheduled For 2012

The Gulfstream G280 has received a provisional type certificate (PTC) from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). It obtained a PTC from the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel (CAAI) on Dec. 29, 2011. The principal remaining item required before full type certificates are issued by the FAA and CAAI is an update to the software for the aircraft’s state-of-the-art avionics.
